Френският пътешественик Сеидже описва романтична картина от Страня Бургас в свой текст, писан през 1829 година. Сеидже е пътувал до Бургас и околностите му със задачата да се осведоми за състоянието на древните и средновековните паметници в източните провинции на Балканския полуостров. В мисията си, във времето когато Бургас вече е окупиран от руската флота, той е подпомаган от руското командване. Това му дава достъп до всички места във военната зона.
Авторът споделя, че през горещото лято на 1829 година жегата в горещите обедни часове била много силна. Разказва и впечатленията си от градския пазар. Споменава за изчезнал в морска буря кораб, чийто екипаж, попадайки в ураган, не успял да се спаси и моряците загинали сред вълните.
